We invite you to see the sculpture in the morning

On Saturday, due to the large flow of visitors, viewing the sculptures was difficult, that is why  on Sunday, 12 February, the festival opens at 11 o’clock. The visitor who have stamps from Saturday are welcome to see sculptures also today. Entrance to the event will be open until 22 pm, and the park will be open until the last customer.

Attention! There will be several traffic restrictions during the 19th International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava. 


30 individual sculptures are created

Today is the first day of the Festival and artists have started to work on individual sculptures.


ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Jelgava City invites you to experience the largest winter event in the Baltics – The International Ice Sculpture Festival, which will take place in the city for the nineteenth time. 32 professional sculptors from eight countrieswill create ice artworks on the Festival’s theme Carnival. Not only works of art for the competition will be created, but also various ice art objects – ice bar, demo sculptures and photo sculptures.


Participants of the 19th International Ice Sculpture Festival have been announced!

From 10 to 12 February, the annual International Ice Sculpture Festival will take place in Jelgava for the 19th time, this year’s theme - Carnival. The jury commission has approved 32 professional sculptors from eight countries to participate in the festival: Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Mongolia, Portugal and Ireland.


Sketch Competition 2017 is open!

19th International Ice Sculpture Festival in Jelgava will be held from February 5 till February 11, and the theme is “CARNIVAL”. Apply to festival till 20th November, by sending sketches and application letter.


Retrospect of the 18th International Ice Sculpture Festival

One of the most ambitious winter festivals has finished. It has been full of surprises and sparkling emotions which gives vigor to prepare for the next festival.


Weather has affected the part of the ice sculptures.

Some of the ice sculptures have lost the original shape.But show must go on!


The Biggest Winter Festival in Latvia is Here

From 5 February to 7 February in Jelgava on Pasta Island, the largest winter event in Latvia, the 18th International Ice Sculpture Festival, will be taking place.


Wonders of the World Made out of Ice in Jelgava

This year the theme of the festival is Wonders of the World. Already on 1 February, artists will create 30 individual sculptures on Pasta Island, but on the following day they will start working on the 15 large team sculptures.


Wonders of the World in Jelgava

Jelgava city municipal organisation "Kultūra" and Jelgava City Council present the 18th edition of the annual International Ice Sculpture Festival. The participants of the festival will create sculptures about the theme "Wonders of the World". The history of the world features notable objects, things, phenomena and events, both man-made and natural. Visitors will see the Wonders of the World through the eyes of the artists from the 5th until the 7th of February at the popular Pasta Island in the very centre of the city.


Changes in Ice sculpture festival

Nature is an artist that surprises us by making changes in ice sculptures. Currently the weather conditions are variable and not very friendly for ice sculptures. Festival program continues. Please do not postpone the visit of the Festival.
